Nothing like some leisure time to work on the web.

  • Made things prettier by fixing ugly styles, adding some graphics to the front page, and adjusting the HTML here and there. The CSS really need some cleaning but I don't have the time right now.
  • Fixed some of the text around the site. I could really use a technical writer.
  • Added Prefecture information to the static list of 100 mountains. A few of the mountains are still missing their Ken. I need to convert this static page to a dynamic one that pulls the data from the database, and can sort the columns on demand.
  • While I'm at it, I could add the north to west/west to north sort. Maybe a region sort?
  • While I'm at it, I could create another dynamic map page to display mountains by prefecture.
  • While I'm at it, I could also create another dynamic map page to display mountains by region.
  • Inserted the site on a couple of search engines.

  • Added instructions on how to submit plots for the maps.
  • Added this Change log, mostly for my benefit so I would remember what I'm working on from one day to the next.
  • All maps are showing a plot to the mountain top.
  • Researched (daydreamed) about  doing Tateyama and Tsuguridake this summer. Added some map plots to Tateyama.

A few fixes here and there. All mountains have their prefecture listed. Mentioned the site on a few hiking websites.

December 15 2006

After many months of programming and filling in the blanks, the site is out in the open. Not a big deal, considering that nobody knows that it is out there and it is not listed on any of the search engines. Lots of work yet to be done but I'm burned out, and the Hakkoda mountains are turning into a Winter wonderland.

Other than working on small fixes, I will continue this project after the holidays.
